Location & Contact

We are located in what is now known as Jasper, Alberta. Historically, this area was an important meeting ground, gathering place, and home to first peoples, and has been such since a time that is now beyond memory. We are located on the boundaries of Treaties Six and Eight, and within Métis Region Four. The creation of the Jasper Forest Park Reserve in 1907 precipitated the forced removal of those living in and using the area in traditional ways. Indigenous people were separated from the land and barred from living in, caring for, meeting or gathering in the area of what is now called Jasper. This forced removal and prohibition of traditional use impacted many communities for whom this area was their traditional territory, including the Anishinaabe, Aseniwuche Winewak, Dane-zaa, Mountain Métis, Métis, Nêhiyawak, Simpcw, and Stoney (Nakoda).

We aim to continuously further our understanding of indigenous ways of knowing while conducting our business in the spirit of reconciliation. Acknowledging the history of the land on which we are presently visitors is one small step in that direction.

We serve clients Jasper National Park, as well as in neighbouring communities such as Hinton, Grande Cache, Valemount, McBride and Blue River.

We hold Permits to Practice with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), and Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).  Prior to legislated requirements for firms in British Columbia, Headwall Engineering was an early adopter of documented quality management processes, and was OQM Certified with EGBC.  We are licensed to practice engineering in both Alberta and British Columbia, as well as Canada’s Mountain National Parks.

Our normal hours of business are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you’ve got a project that you’d like to speak with us about, please get in touch!
